Republicans for science

Did anyone else catch the GOP candidate wannabees’ debate on Tuesday? Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee had this to say in response to a question about “not believing in evolution”:

It’s interesting that that question would even be asked of somebody
running for president. I’m not planning on writing the curriculum for
an eighth-grade science book.

It’s a relief to see that Huckabee doesn’t plan to write any science texts. However, he never really did answer the question and neither did Sam Brownback or John McCain; all of them basically turned the question around to say that it was a referendum on whether they believed in God, as though somehow a belief in the Judeo-Christian God is wholly incompatible with accepting the fact of biological evolution.

At least we now know that a vote for one of these clowns is a vote for creationism.
